Kevin was born on Planet Dorthia, raised by his father, Brett Stelle. He inherited the power to manipulate light magic and was gifted a light sword at the age of eight. 

Unlike most swords the Doomblade was portrayed to have a mind of its own. It only protected Mercer; never letting another individual wield it.

After the death of Mercer’s father he was intrigued, an eventually followed into his fathers footsteps by becoming a private detective. He worked alongside Spade Dicerman if and when their cases became a conflict of interest.

The name Mercer Light was an alias Kevin used when interfering with police matters. He was also a known hero in Reno, Nevada….until he joined Syndicate.
